Terms and Conditions

Last updated 31 October 2026

The short version

  • Our lessons are practice material. We work hard to match the NSW curriculum and test formats, but we can’t guarantee that every question or answer is aligned or correct. Some content is created with the help of AI.
  • Students under 16 must be registered by a parent or guardian, and we recommend parents guide younger students.
  • We can’t promise any test result or school placement.
  • These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales.

1. About these terms

These terms apply to teamnotasloth.com, run by Team Not-A-Sloth (“we”, “us”). By using the website or creating an account, you agree to them. If you are creating an account for a child, you agree to them on the child’s behalf and are responsible for the child’s use of the website. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information.

2. Accounts

  • Students under 16 must be registered by a parent or guardian, using the parent’s own email address.
  • Give accurate details and keep your password private. Each account is for one student.
  • Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.

3. Parental guidance

We recommend that parents or guardians guide younger students: help them get started, check in on their progress, and talk with them about staying safe online, including what they post in comments. The website is not a substitute for a parent’s supervision.

4. Our educational content

  • Curriculum alignment. We aim to align our lessons, questions and answers with the NSW curriculum and with the style of tests such as the Opportunity Class and Selective High School placement tests. We do not guarantee that every item matches the curriculum, a syllabus or any test, or that the material is complete.
  • Accuracy. Some content is created with the help of AI tools and then checked, but mistakes can still get through. We do not guarantee that every question, answer, hint or explanation is correct. If you spot an error, please tell us at teamnotasloth@gmail.com so we can fix it.
  • No guaranteed results. We can’t promise any score, ranking, test result or school placement.
  • Independent. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by the NSW Department of Education, the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA), or any test provider.
  • Our content is general practice material, not individual educational advice. It works alongside a student’s schooling and does not replace it.

5. Using the website

You agree not to:

  • share your account, or sign in as someone else;
  • copy, scrape or republish our content, or access the website with bots or automated tools;
  • post anything unkind, offensive or unsafe, or anyone’s personal details, in comments or uploads;
  • try to break, overload or get around the website’s security.

We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. What you submit

Your answers, comments, course requests and uploaded photos remain yours. You allow us to store and display them as needed to run the website, for example to show your work to your coach or show a comment on a lesson. Only upload work that is yours, and keep faces and personal details out of photos.

7. Our intellectual property

The lessons, questions, diagrams and other content on this website belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own or your child’s personal, non-commercial learning. You may not copy, sell or republish them, or use them to teach paying students, without our written permission.

8. Fees

The lessons are currently free. If we charge for a class, coaching or other service, we will tell you the price and any extra terms before you pay.

9. Changes and availability

We may add, change or remove lessons, classes and features, and some features are offered as pilots. We try to keep the website running smoothly but can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors.

10. Links to other websites

We may link to other websites and resources. We are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

11. Our liability

  • The website and its content are provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we exclude all warranties and conditions that are not set out in these terms, including any warranty that the content is accurate or matches the curriculum.
  • To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or reliance on, the website or its content, including errors in questions or answers, or test or placement results.
  • Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where our liability for a breach of a consumer guarantee can lawfully be limited, it is limited, at our choice, to supplying the services again or paying the cost of having them supplied again.

12. Closing an account

You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing teamnotasloth@gmail.com. A closed account becomes inactive and can be reopened; you can also ask us to erase your personal details, as explained in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling the account holder where it is reasonable to do so.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top, and for significant changes we will tell account holders by email or on the website before they take effect. If you keep using the website after that, the updated terms apply.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts that hear appeals from them.
