A sequence is an ordered list of numbers following a rule. In an arithmetic sequence, we add or subtract a constant value each time (common difference). Look at these block patterns: term 1 is 1 block, term 2 is 3 blocks, and term 3 is 5 blocks.

Display the visual representation of growing stacks of blocks (1, 3, 5).
